To drill or not to drill – we hear it all the time. Drilling can be tricky, and with the Zoom system, it’s rarely necessary. However, it’s smart to have a tool on hand when you need to terminate the end of a crack or open up a tight break.

Not into drilling? The Drill & Polishing Pack does so much more than just drill. This 4-in-1 tool includes cork attachments for easy break massaging (to encourage resin flow) and quickly polishes pits to perfection so you can do more repairs in less time

The Drill & Polishing Pack includes:

    • 5-speed Drill
    • USB Charger
    • (2) Collets
      • Size: 3/32
    • (2) Pit-polishing Posts with (2) Cork Attachments

When you need a resupply, drill bits and polishing accessories can be purchased separately through the options above.

To Prepare the Drill: Load the chuck with the desired collet size and either a drill bit or pit polishing post. Twist the chuck to the left until tightened. To loosen the chuck, press and hold the silver button on the drill and twist the chuck to the right.

For Drilling: Using the 1/16 collet and drill bit attachments, carefully drill into the center of the impact point starting at low speed. Use caution to prevent drilling too deep into the glass and impacting the interior PVC layer.

Drilling is an advanced windshield repair technique. With the Zoom injector, drilling is rarely needed. Always practice on a piece of scrap glass before drilling a repair.

For Massaging: Load the drill with a 3/32 collet and pit-polishing posts. During the injection cycle, run the cork at medium speed against the inside of the windshield. Lightly massage until the legs of the break are filled with resin.

For Polishing: Load the drill with a 3/32 collet and pit-polishing posts. Apply a small drop of Pit Polish to the fully cured and scraped repair. Turn on the drill to medium speed and polish in a circular motion for 5-10 seconds.

For Moisture Evaporation: Mount the injector over the impact point with the white seal but no resin. Pull a vaccum. Turn the tool up to a 3 or 4 and go back and forth accross the repair for about 15 seconds on the inside of the break. Use a small amount of pressure and cover the whole area. The combination of high vibration and heat will evaporate the moisture. Let the repair sit for 4-6 min to return to it’s normal temperature and then start your repair.

Small enough to fit in any repair box. Small enough to easily handle and does a good job. Since purchasing my first one, I now own four. I use one for drilling another for polishing and the remaining two as backups.

This is a product that I have actually looked for as an attachment for a Dremel. The fact the the fine people at Glasweld have brought this attachment to the industry is fantastic. I received the drill quickly and immediately started using the cork attachment. This attachment is simple. A large collet is included in your kit so at the current price point I was able to order a second drill. Keep on...

Item works great. Expensive though. It would be nice if there was an option to buy more in bulk for a less expensive price.
